Official Government Instrustions (by State)

Here are the formal instruction issued by the Federal Government of Nigeria and State Governments.


  • Suspension of the weekly FEC (Federal Executive Council) and Council of State meetings until further notice.
  • Postponement of the meeting of the Council of State ​​​scheduled for Thursday, 26th March 2020;
  • All land borders that have been hitherto under partial closure ​​shall now be closed for human traffic for four weeks effective, ​​23rd March 2020.


  • Schools in abia state are directed to close on march 30.
  • Isolation centers in Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia; Specialist Hospital, Amachara, Umuahia; and Abia State University Teaching Hospital, ABSUTH, Aba, while a fourth centre for Abia North would soon be opened.
  • Four functional mobile clinics and seven fully equipped ambulances that would be used to convey COVID-19 patients to isolation centres, teamed committee to aid manage any outbreak case.


  • ​All Abuja residents are strongly advised to stay at ​​home, avoid mass congregation of any kind as well as non-​​essential outings, until further advice is given.


  • All educational institution on indefinite vacation.
  • All public gatherings suspended.
  • No form of physical contact, distance of 6-feet to be maintained.

  • Managements of establishments should provide hand wash stations and sanitizers.
  • All luxurious bus owners and operators must maintain a travel manifest for inbound and outbound passengers to Anambra state.


  • Enugu Govt Orders Closure of Public, Private Primary, Secondary Schools.
  • Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has approved Group Life/Group Personal Accident Assurance Policy for all medical doctors in the state Ministry of Health and hospitals, covering medical doctors in the Enugu State University of Science and Technology Teaching Hospital, (ESUTH) Parklane. Other beneficiaries, according to the statement, include fire fighters, staff of Enugu State Emergency Management Agency and all those involved in other essential services.
  • The governor has directed President Generals of all town unions in the state to mobilize volunteers and town criers in their respective communities to enlighten their residents on prevention of COVID-19 with effect from March 26.
  • Bans on social activities including burials, weddings and night clubs among others to prevent spread of coronavirus in the state.
  • Approved N330m for COVID-19 defence.
  • Relocated state Isolation Centre to ESUT Teaching Hospital


  • Imo schools shut down, Isolation center provide and 24hrs ambulance service.
  • Imo state government says it will close down all markets and borders.


  • Non-essential civil servants to stay at home for the next 14 days effective Monday March 23, 2020, especially those from Grade Level 1 to 12.
  • Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu asked members of the public to stay away from government offices and use phone and internet channels as best as possible.
  • A partial shutdown is active in the state for seven days starting from Thursday 26 March 2020, it affects court sittings, markets and stores, except for essential services.
